ticker tape parade
Two days after The Superbowl, New York City threw the Giants a ticker tape parade which passed right by my office and the wife's office. I'm finally getting around to posting the pictures we took.
First of all, the World Trade Center train was clogged with all kinds of parade-goers. Mostly doofuses from the high schools and lesser colleges of New Jersey, a few their girlfriends, and some adults who took the day off of work as well. Here's a fun picture that the wife took of some of the ticker tapers.

The parade didn't start until late in the morning, but people had been lining up for it since the crack of dawn. In many ways, the whole thing reminded me of a real football game... a whole bunch of people standing around in the cold and cheering while nothing continues to happen.
The crowd was so loud that it sounded like a stadium filled up for a game, especailly when the marching bands passed by. When the parade actually began, people from all the surrounding buildings started throwing any kind of paper products out their windows they could spare. Toilet paper, the contents of their shredded paper bin, stock tickets, and full sized sheets of paper from the recycling bin. Here's a picture I took from my office window.
