swedish architecture
This afternoon the wife is in charge of a secret bachelor party for her officemate. Since she also happens to be in the middle of a 48+ hour shift at work, she had me get all of the goods for the party and deliver them to her office. I had never been to her new place before, I got the tour. The high point was hiding out in the stairwell while she checked to see if the coast was clear to smuggle the party goods in. I was standing there with two gallons of beverages on my back surrounded by all dozens, if not hundreds, of of glow-in-the-dark "escape from the burning building this way" signs and arrows that had been glued all over the stairs, railings, and walls. If the Vikings were around today, they would probably be amazed at how much glow-in-the-dark stuff we have, and how we take so much of it for granted.
The low point was walking through the lobby, which is currently being remodeled. The wife tried to prepare me for how awful the new look is by saying, "I looks horrible. Very Swedish." Although it was simultaneously very bland, busy, and gray on top of it all, I felt it didn't have enough pointy surfaces to be truly Swedish.-Jack Handy
